Devin got into an internship that was not in his mother tongue and this turned out to his advantage because he says with pride that his French strongly improved. Indeed, with his determination and the support of Synagri’s team, he gained in confidence and in ease. Combined with his love for discussing with people, he was thus able to expand his network with the French-speaking clients.
Devin has more experience in the animal world than in the vegetal world because he grew up on a dairy farm. Nonetheless, he gained a certain knowledge at university (McGill and Bishop’s) which he could deepen furthermore through walking the fields. Now, he understands better how to choose the right fertilizer and when to apply it given the context.
When Devin talks about his internship experience and about what he is passionate about, we can see that he has found his place, which is outside, at the farm or in the field, with people or with animals. His smile and openness say a lot on his desire to learn and understand the world around him.
