Job Description

KEY POINTS

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or professional/technical training in Agriculture

  • At least 2 years of experience in selling agricultural inputs for field crops in the Quebec market

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with overtime as needed during peak season.

Territory:

  • The position covers the Mont St-Grégoire area on the South Shore of Montreal.

Under the authority of the Regional Sales Director, the primary mission of the position holder will be to maintain and develop sustainable and profitable business relationships with clients by offering agile, efficient, and innovative business opportunities.
By promoting Synagri’s range of products and services, they help farmers in their territory improve performance.

MORE SPECIFICALLY, YOUR MAIN CHALLENGES WILL BE TO:

  • Establish and maintain a climate of trust that supports business relationships with clients

  • Recommend the full range of agricultural products and services

  • Develop business plans with clients

  • Prospect and acquire new clients

  • Stay informed on market trends and keep up with innovations

  • Advise farmers on product handling and storage methods to maintain their effectiveness

  • Process credit applications and review credit margins for new clients

  • Simplify and explain technical information to clients

  • Contribute to the development and deployment of precision agriculture

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or a college diploma (DEC) in Agricultural Technology, or any other relevant combination of education and experience

  • Has at least 2 years of experience in selling agricultural inputs for field crops in Quebec

  • Has solid knowledge of the agricultural or agri-food sector

  • Is a member of the OAQ (Ordre des agronomes du Québec) or the Ordre des technologues du Québec (an asset)

  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and has experience using a CRM

  • Is available for frequent travel within their territory

  • Holds a valid Class 5 driver’s license
