YOUR FUTURE CHALLENGES

The incumbent supports the planning and monitoring of seed blend production activities by ensuring resource availability and effective inventory management. They also contribute to laboratory operations by supporting sample preparation, results compilation, and document preparation.

MORE SPECIFICALLY, YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Production

  • Plan and coordinate the production activities of cereal and forage seed blends according to priorities and production capacity.
  • Review, adjust, and validate production formulas while ensuring ingredient availability in collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Communicate production plans and changes to the teams involved.
  • Validate seed receipts and record required certifications (germination, purity) in the systems.
  • Plan and schedule product re-bagging and re-inoculation activities.
  • Ensure the accuracy of raw material and finished product inventories by monitoring stock levels and keeping planning and inventory data up to date in ERP systems and Excel.
  • Ensure seed and lot traceability.
  • Process, monitor, and properly document seed returns.
  • Plan and participate in periodic physical inventory counts.
  • Analyze data to support short-, medium-, and long-term planning.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of planning, inventory management, and traceability processes.

Laboratory

  • Provide administrative follow-up for production agreements in collaboration with the person responsible, including document management and updates.
  • Compile and enter results into computer systems while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and issue required certificates and collaborate in the invoicing process according to established agreements.
  • Participate in seed inventory management by monitoring quantities and updating records.
  • Coordinate the shipment of samples to testing sites while ensuring deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Prepare seed samples for germination and purity testing according to established protocols.
  • Perform any other related duties associated with production and laboratory operations.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • College diploma (DEC) in Operations Management, Agri-food, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in production planning.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, or seed production environment.

You Have

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team spirit.
  • The ability to work under pressure and manage priorities effectively.
  • A strong customer service mindset and excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfort using computer tools (Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems).
  • The ability to adapt and work effectively in changing and sometimes ambiguous environments.
  • Fluency in French; English is considered an asset.
  • Awareness of health and safety standards.
  • Availability during peak production periods.
  • The ability to safely perform physical tasks, including occasional handling of light to moderate loads.
