KEY POINTS

Required Skills: Minimum of 2 years of experience in preparing Agro-Environmental Plans (PAEF), Diploma in an agricultural field (DEC or Bachelor’s degree), Availability for occasional on-farm visits in the Lanaudière region

Schedule: Permanent hybrid position, 40 hours per week, with overtime during peak season

YOUR FUTURE CHALLENGES

Reporting to the Director of Innovation & Agronomic Services, the Agro-Environmental Expert supports producers in regulatory compliance, provides technical recommendations, and assists in the implementation of sustainable agri-environmental practices, while contributing to agronomic services and precision agriculture.

MORE SPECIFICALLY, YOUR MAIN CHALLENGES WILL BE TO:

  • Field preparation of manure piles and follow-ups
  • Manure characterization (weighing, data entry, analyses, and reporting)
  • Delineation of flood-prone areas
  • Grant applications (equipment, cover crops, windbreak hedges, etc.)
  • Preparation of Agri-Environmental Plans (PAEF)
  • Farm planning
  • Riparian buffer protection plans
  • Updating electronic field notebooks
  • Producing and maintaining pesticide records
  • Managing plots, side-by-side trials, and various experiments (planting, harvest monitoring, and weighing)
  • Crop protection plans
  • Crop program preparation
  • Soil profiling
  • Equipment calibration at clients’ sites (seeder, sprayer)
  • Field soil sampling
  • Preparation of GPS-based sampling strategies
  • Variable rate application files (lime correction, potash, seeding, N-P-K, crop maintenance)
  • Production cost reports
  • Agronomic intelligence reports
  • Management of GPS operations (samplers, contract work, etc.)
  • Participation in weekly meetings
  • Participation in producer days
  • Participation in basic and ongoing training as well as company events

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Has a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Holds a diploma (DEC) or Bachelor’s degree in the agricultural field
  • Is rigorous and detail-oriented
  • Possesses strong analytical and synthesis skills
